Firstly,the author mentioned that there is ariver between Palean village and “ancient village”.Based on this truth,the auther assumed thatvillager cannot cross the river because there were no boats.However,he failed to depict the picture of the environmentof the Brim River in the prehistoric time.Maybe during that period,this river was broad but not deep,or thisriver was deep but not broad,or even there was no river that time.Thus,people in the Palea village can goacross the "Brim River" without any obstruction.Thus,thesepossibilities pale the auther’s arbitrary speculation.To make the author's words more convincing,he needs to provide us the exact geographic circumstance during that period.To say the least,even during the prehistoric time,there was avery broad and deep river,the author cannot simply assume that without boats Paleanpeople cannot go through the Brim River.One possible explanation is that during that time,people can swimacross that river.The alternativepossibility is that maybe boats from other country travelledhere and brought baskets across the Brim River for thecommercial need.Or even when there came a winter,people can go across this riverafter ice formed beyond the river.Tosupport this assumption,the author needs to rule out the possibility above atleast.
